TESTIMONIALS

High School for Boys and Girls from grade 8-12

‘The caring & nurturing environment at Drakondale encouraged academic growth & provided a safe & inclusive space for personal development.

The teachers were more than just educators, they became mentors showing genuine care about success & well-being. Their passion & willingness to go the extra mile to ensure understanding & engagement inspired Damien to push himself beyond his comfort zone, shaping character & instilling a love for learning.

One of the highlights was the countless extracurricular opportunities; dance, choir, engaging in community service… all enhanced personal growth & taught teamwork, leadership & perseverance.

The rigorous academic curriculum offered by Drakondale covered challenging coursework to prepare him for college & equip him with critical thinking & problem-solving.  He received a well-rounded education, that went beyond textbooks & tests.

An incredible sense of unity & spirit at school-wide activities created a supportive atmosphere that made us feel part of a family.

Thank you, I am excited to see how your school continues to positively impact the lives of future generations of students.’ Belinda Gillies

‘Lillian wanted to go to Drakondale Girls after seeing the Drakensberg Boys perform at her school in 2016. For just over 3 years she insisted that this was her future high school. Lillian played the recorder, ukulele, marimba, was in choir, danced Ballet with KZN Dance, Tap with KZN Academy of Dance, Modern with Studio 84 , Acrobatic dancing with BellaDonna Acrobatics and while at Drakondale she also participated in horse riding. As a Drakondale family we attended amazing performances in dance, music & singing.

During her years at Drakondale School of the Arts, Lillian was given the opportunity to take dance, music, & drama as a subject.

Lillian made many good friends & while staying in hostel she learnt to talk & understand Zulu.’ Charmaine Allison

‘Our 8th grader ZamaDlomo Mkhabela has completed her second term now at Drakondale School of Art. We are extremely pleased with the experience for many reasons.

Having completed her first 7 years at a public school, we were looking for the best fit for our daughter & found Drakondale to be perfect. Our daughter is involved in music & dance & enjoys the challenge & team spirit. She has grown in the Art-based environment. The teachers & leadership are highly engaged, competent, & dedicated to the scholastic & spiritual development of the children, in other words, they are passionate.

Drakondale is a great school, & teachers genuinely care about students. They care, about the character & the type of person this student will become. Our daughter has been telling us that everyone in the school is friendly & enjoys helping in whatever way possible. Although she has struggle to adapt with the pressure of schoolwork in some learning areas, but she is still in high spirits & dedicated to do her best to balance her studies. We feel blessed to have landed at Drakondale & look forward to the remaining years at this high school.’ Mrs S.P. Mkhabela

‘I came across the school for the first time in 2021 when I enrolled my two daughters, Awande & Isenhle.

I’ve known Drakondale to be a school that strives for excellence & discipline. They pride themselves in their craft & encourage the learners to always do their very best. I’ve seen tremendous improvement in self-confidence, academics since enrolment in the school, as well as d developing passion for music & arts.

In my opinion, it’s the perfect school for children who want to develop their character because of the freedom provided to the learners as well as the on-going motivation.’ Pearl Nzimande

‘My son’s educational journey has been hard. When we started looking for other options, we discovered it is hard to find an educational environment that is accepting & supportive of differences. We tried the online route but that proved impossible for my son.

From the first phone call I have personally found everyone at Drakondale to be accepting & extremely supportive. The staff have gone out of their way to support & help Noah in all ways.  They have encouraged Noah & understood his unique needs.

The children in Noah’s grade & in the general school have accepted Noah & allowed my son to be & express himself, without fear of judgment & ridicule.

Noah has found an environment where he can be himself & get a quality education, with the enrichment experiences that he needs.

I am extremely grateful for Drakondale & everyone in their team.’ Sarah Cramer

‘Our daughter, Sisanda Zimu, has been attending Drakondale School of the Arts since January 2022. She has been extremely happy since joining the school & has shown wonderful growth & dedication to her studies, thanks to the support & guidance received from her teachers.

The Drakondale teachers and staff have created a wonderful sense of ‘family’ and belonging. They have the learners’ interests at heart, and exercise professionalism always.

We, as parents, have always been kept up to date with happenings, events and developments within the school, & good open communication is welcomed.

We are extremely happy with our daughter attending Drakondale & look forward to the rest of her schooling career there.’ Lisa Button
