Beverley Cameron is a dedicated language specialist and STEAM education leader based in Howick, KwaZulu-Natal. With a background in Communication Science and a PGCE, she has spent over ten years shaping dynamic learning environments across senior primary and FET phases.

Beverley’s approach to education is holistic and learner-centered. She has a proven track record of leadership, having served as Acting Principal and Head of Academics, where she pioneered STEAM integration and curriculum standardization. Her experience is uniquely global, having taught Cambridge English curricula in Sri Lanka, yet deeply rooted in the South African context. Currently, she inspires students in Grades 10-12 at Drakondale School of the Arts, applying frameworks like Bloom’s Taxonomy to develop strong literacy and digital skills.

I joined Drakondale School of the Arts in 2018 and have loved every moment of this journey. I currently serve as the school’s Secretary and Bursar.

I am originally from the Eastern Cape and before moving to KZN ran a very successful family IT company (Dotcom Solutions).  During this period we also launched Dotcom Logistics and I dealt with the six major airports (JHB, Lanseria, King Shaka International, EL Airport, Port Elizabeth Airport and CT International Airport) within South Africa.  I am very used to working in a high pressure, time sensitive environment, which suits Drakondale needs perfectly. 

We relocated to KZN as my husband had been offered an amazing work experience and could not turn down this opportunity.  I have two kids, my son Caleb currently job hunting and my daughter still in high school, Drakondale of course! Where else would I send her.

Prior to that I worked as a Manager with the Foschini Group for a number of years.  I completed many in-house training courses with them, namely :

  • Train the Trainer
  • Management for Leaders
  • Finance for Managers.

I studied at the University of Transkei (B. Com –Industrial Psy) with two credits outstanding. 

I also successfully completed:

  • an HR Labour Law Certificate (UNISA – School of Business Leadership)
  • Diploma in Customer Service (Alison Online University)

I am currently working on completing a Counseling Course to assist troubled teens with behavioural issues and to eventually be able to assist with Career Counseling Sessions.
