We would like to give a very special shout-out to our wonderful Ms. Amanda Guma, who recently came to the rescue of a juvenile hawk that had tragically crashed into a fence and sustained a broken wing. Without hesitation, Amanda stepped in to help. She contacted CROW – the CENTRE FOR REHABILITATION OF WILDLIFE, who then liaised with the AFRICAN RAPTOR CENTRE to ensure that the young hawk was safely collected and would receive the specialised care and rehabilitation it needs to recover. Thank you, Ms. Guma, for going above and beyond, not only in the care you show towards our learners and school community, but also towards the beautiful wildlife that surrounds us. Your compassion is a wonderful example of the values we strive to nurture at Drakondale.
If we look after nature, nature will look after us!
Well done, Ms. Guma — we are incredibly proud of you!
